Storage Terms & Conditions
Section A:
1: Identification: On or before the commencement of the contract please provide a copy of photographic ID, a driving license or a passport. ID must be in date and match the personal accessing the site/container. There is no alternative to the ID process.
2: Security: The security of goods inside the container & yard is your responsibility, we have live monitored and recorded CCTV on the site however items left uninsured are “at owners own risk”. A padlock will be provided for the lock box on the container which will carry a £30 ‘at cost’ charge if the lock is not returned upon termination. You are welcome and encouraged to use your own padlocks on the arm clasp(s), noting the RHS door always has to open first. Any provided container padlock keys you require in addition, no problem, they are charged at £5 per extra key (as a cutting / admin charge), the same number of keys issued in total must be returned upon termination.
3: Gates: The front and main yard access gates will be manually opened & accessible during business hours, they must be manually closed & secured after every visit upon leaving the yard (even if they were already open upon arrival).
4: Insurance: We do not insure the contents within the containers in any way, natural disasters and acts of god will also not be covered unless you wish to take out your own insurance, to which we can only advise upon. We are also not liable to insure any Vehicles, Trailers, Caravans & Machinery etc stored in our yard, these must also have suitable storage insurance in place. Should your Vehicles, Trailers, Caravans & Machinery etc cause any damage to our property or any other property stored in our premises without suitable insurance in place we may issue legal proceedings for loss recovery against the person/persons responsible for the rental agreement.
5: Illegal / prohibited goods: We don’t allow the storage of the following, & should we find this be the case you will be asked to immediately remove it and vacate the unit immediately: No chemicals, propane tanks, tyres, biological agents, flammable / combustible liquids or gasses, radioactive materials, weapons / ammunition, toxic substances / waste (inc asbestos), anything dead or alive. No other general goods classed as illegal.
6: Other goods: Any spills left e.g. oil, grease & paint will incur a minimum £45 to maximum £450 charge depending on the area it has effected that will need replacing. If you must store non flammable liquids & garden machinery with oil and residual fuel inside simply make sure it’s in the correct container, all lids are secure and sit on plastic or even a few bin liners. Do not paint, fix, drill or attach anything to the container/unit.
7: Ownership of goods: With no exceptions the contract holder must own or have legal rights to the goods in storage.
8: Entry to unit: You will permit us entry in to your container if we are asked to do so by the emergency services, customs and excise or a court order. We will of course try contacting you immediately in this event via all the details you have provided us.
9: Payment default: Late payment, 3 calendar days or more of non-payment results in a fixed £20 late payment charge, this will be added to due hire cost. If payment does not arrive within 7 days of late payment your container unit will be secured & will be re-released within 2 working days of payment. If by 14 calendar days no payment is made, a further £20 late payment charge will be added, we will then issue you with a 28 day notice ‘TORT procedure’ for interference with goods act 1978. This will allow us to remove & dispose of your goods entirely. Until that point your contact charges still apply at a daily rate. If after a total of 3 late payments during your contract you may be asked to vacate your unit within 30 days.
10: Unit suitability: It is your obligation to make sure the container is suitable for your needs and goods to be stored.
11: Contract length: The minimum term is 1 month, invoices are due on the 1st monthly, with a 14 day rolling notice period proceeding that (taken as same day before 11am), when given any remainder of the month payment will be refunded. Should your notice period fall across two months full payment must be made on the 1st and a refunds due once the notice period expires will be processed within 5 working days.
12: Exiting your unit: Once your 14 day notice has expired we may issue a charge of £10 per day until all keys are returned to us, this is a “non hire" charge. It is your responsibility to arrange with us by a phone call or email either on the day you ‘check out’ or preferably the day before to ensure you can hand the keys back. Then provided there are no damages or fees as listed in these terms & conditions to deduct your partial refund will be returned via the bank details you provide us. You must completely empty your unit & if necessary clean before leaving.
13: Payments: We are not able to take regular card or cash payments. Regular invoices will be sent on the 1st of the month, please only pay the amount invoiced & not any more or less. Standing orders form part of the agreement and are required to be set-up for the 1st of the month. .
14: Access times: The secure site is accessible between 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday & 8am to Midday on Saturdays & Sundays. If you require access to vehicles, caravans, trailers or plant outside these times please ensure your request is received with 24 hours notice to the contact number provided and where possible we will attempt to provide access. Please remember no access to the site will be granted for container access outside these hours.
15. Agreement: By way of initiating your contract (annual/rolling monthly) with your first payment you are confirming you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions hereby set out above.
